Sopor Aeternus, The Ensemble of Shadows

In un forum dove bazzico io non può non essere un post sui SOPOR AETERNUS, creatura irreale nata dalla mente altrettanto irreale di Anna Varney.

Il progetto S.A. nasce come dark folk medievale e si evolve in un necro romantico fino ad arrivare agli ultimi capitoli dei quali non ho ancora nessuna possibilità di commento non avendoli ancora sentiti.

E’ quasi impossibile trovare un “gruppo musicale” nel quale convivano in una così stretta ed indissolubile amalgama TESTI – MUSICA - ARTWORK, dove nessuna delle parti che lo compongono può viaggiare distaccata dalle altre.

TESTI drammatici, violenti, oscuri che sanno arrivare fino alle viscere delle emozioni toccando i punti più bassi della disperazione; MUSICA drammatica, cameristica grazie alla partecipazione dell’orchestra “The Ensemble of Shadows” che dà forza ed espressività laddove non arriva l’interpretazione vocale sofferente; ARTWORk come mezzo comunicativo finale che racchiude e da una forma finita e concreta e ciò che rimarrebbe senza una immagine reale che la rappresenti.

Io scendo in un’altra dimensione ascoltando i capitolinecro-romantici, avendo finalmente trovato in essi quella rappresentazione perfetta di questi argomenti, che mai avevo riscontrato in altra musica.

Di ogni uscita esistono varie versioni, anche molto lussuose e sempre curatissime nell'immagine, soprattutto il mega box di Le Chambre d'Echo ora ristampato in versione più economica.

In usita il 29 ottobre il nuovo MCD che riprende l'evoluzione stilistica dell'ultimo pezzo della collezione, sia per l'artwork che probabilmente per l'uso maggiore di spunti elettronici calibrati.

Difficile dare indicazioni più precise sullo stile, che più che musica è un viaggio attraverso dimensioni alternative alla nostra. Difficile anche dare qualche indicazioni precisa su chi o cosa sia Anna Vanrey, essere che trova la sua migliore forma nell'asessualità.
