..il Tnoic di New York ha chiuso, dopo anni di concerti..

April 14 - the day after Tonic's last concert - there was a
demonstration organized by our friends from Take It to the Bridge.

Putroppo i problemi ci sono ovunque, come ha detto Zorn 'the marketabilty of sameness'. L'omologazione e' imperante, cosi' come la logica del denaro. Che gliene frega alla gente del tonic?

...perchè molti dei bootleg di Zorn & company sono stati registrati lì, compresa tutta la serie del 50° compleanno...
ci ha suonato mezzo mondo...era un locale storico..per questo mi sembrava importante!

Il mese scorso mi arrivò una mail che anticipava tale brutta notizia. Un articolo interessante è apparso qualche giorno fa su AllAboutJazz Italia che mostra tra l'altro le foto dell'arresto di Marc Ribot che aveva "occupato" il locale il giorno dello sfratto:

Triste notizia, veramente. Anch'io pensavo che andasse alla grande quel posto. Peccato. :bah:

Al di là dei bootleg, Zorn ci aveva registrato, come detto, tutta la serie del 50esimo (e non è poco, viste le formazioni intervenute) e anche uno degli storici concerti della Masada Live Series.
