..sembra strano che proprio io parli di quest'album..
d'altronde è stata la mia unica per così dire "educazione religiosa"....
...parliamo prima della musica: stupenda!
Una vera opera, con tanto di temi personali dei personaggi, overture, arie personali dei protagonisti, e orchestra classica; ma con l'aggiunta di un quartetto rock classico chitarra-basso batteria e soprattutto tastiere, hammond, e moog.
La registrazione è del 1970 e si sente in alcuni punti l'influenza del prog!
Per quanto rigurda i cantanti, tutti veramente molto bravi: Giuda, Maddalena, Pilato..
...ma qui è Gesù che fa la differenza: in questa prima registrazione fatta in studio la parte è affidata ad un giovane cantante che ha registrato sol, per ora (1970), un semplice disco rock con orchestra...il suo nome è Ian Gillan....
Solo ascoltando l'album si può capire l'espressività e l'estensione vocale che Gillan aveva già: alcuni punti (What's the buzz, The Temple, Gethsemane) sono veramente da pelle d'oca!
...se qualcuno ha visto il film...si dimentichi tutto...qui tutto è su un livello molto più alto!
la trama, probabilmente la sapete più di me...
le ultime settimane di Gesù...ma qui è tutto dal punto di vista di Giuda!
..e ne esce una visione un po' diversa...
ma non voglio dilungarmi...provate ad ascoltarla!
