Hi Mike ,

We met in the Hemophiliac show in Boulder, CO on
> febraury 2004. I gave you the CD of my band'. Then i saw Fantomas and Melt Banana in Boulder on April of the sam year.

The truth is that i always wanted to interview you
because i am a fan of Faith No More since 1991, when
you played in the fucking Festival of Viña del Mar, Chile.

In Chile thera are a lot of fans of you and FNM. This includes people that don't necesary listen to rock, experimental and other derivations. I mean pople who listen to your music for what it is anD gives.

1. Do you remember that experience, when you kiss the host of the show and you grab his ass, and also when you throw water from a bottle to the audience and the press?. Was it something special for you or just a simple fact in your carrer to come to this conservative country?

* I don't remember it all, but I had a great time in
Chile! It did not seem so conservative to me.

2. Do you remember your second coming with FNM to Monsters of Rock in 1995 when the fucking audience covered you with spit, that is our way to show that we like a band. What do you thing of that primitive way of comunication?

* I love getting any kind of reaction. It was great.
The worst shows are when people just sit and watch.

To be honest, the coming of you meant a new way of treating rock, because in that time in Chile we only had metalheads and punkies, all of them with their cliches. I love specially the FNM's first 2 records.

3. Were you a fan of the first FNM? What do you think of the voice and the style of Chuck Mosley?

* I was not a big fan, but they were good. Chuck was
good.

4. Are you a fan of Boredoms , Yamatsuka Eye , Area and Demetrio Stratos. What do you think of making music using other forms like noise, gutural screams and voices arrangements?

* I love the Boredoms. Eye is great! They all are! I
love using all kinds of noises. It makes music more
interesting to me.

I am a fan of GG Allin and i think that he is the musician who put all of his ideology in his music and never sold to anybody. He lived and died for what he believed in.

5. What do you think of him, his ideology, his lyrics. Did you had the chance to go to one oh his concerts in the 90's?

* He was very funny. One of a kind. A real dumbass!!!
Another dead junkie. I loved him and miss him. Next to
Sinatra , he is a true American legend.

6- Any future colaboration with Merle Allin and Murder Junkies or are you far from doing hard rock and roll and punk?

* No collaborations planned with those guys. I try all
kinds of music.

7- I know that you are not very much into lyrics.
But. What do you think of the lyrics of David Yow ( ex - The Jesus Lizard )? Do you liked? Do they make you laugh?

* I did not study their lyrics but they are both great
entertainers. David is a good friend of mine. Someday
he will do something for Ipecac.

8- Who do you consider good lyric writers and singers inside the music stuff?

* Sinatra, Willie Nelson, GG Allin

9- I have seen a couple of Tomahawk shows and i notice that you behave like a real rock band. I know that you had vomit, pissed in public with a fake penis, arrested and kissed some fans in the ass.

What is true about this myth? Is it real, is it an improvisation that gets out from an interior force for shocking the audience or is it the consecuence of drinking too much whisky?

* Well, unfortunately none of it is true. It must be
writers snorting ants with Ozzy Osbourne.

10- What are the diferences of going on tour with
Fantomas and Tomahawk in the sense of the things
> that you do together? I mean the places where you
> hang out, the bars that you visit, if you get drunk
> or not and the relationship between musicians.

* We get drunker in Tomahawk. But we are all older and
wiser now. For me it is about the food!

>
> 11. I have seen the behave of Mr Rutmanis in the
> shows and i think that he is under the effects of
> LSD. How is he like a person? Is he quiet?

* He is not on LSD. He is just crazy. Yes he is
quiet...... sometimes.

>
> 12. I think that Naked City and the Japanese
> noisecore is a big influence on Fantomas. Do you
> agree with this?

* Sure! And cartoons.

>
> I listened to the LP "General Patton vs
> X-ecutioners'' and i think that it kick ass. It is
> excelent... a record that can blow your brains out
> and also make you dance at a party.
>
> 13. I likes the samplers and the music that pinch
> the X-ecutioners. What records from you colection
> did you send to them? The dialogs from films...Did
> you make them up or they belong to movies? What
> movies?

* I sent them 50 records. Got 40 of them back. Those
bastards owe me!!!! Glad you like the record. I do
too!

>
> 14. I heard a few years ago that you were going to
> edit David Yow and a second version of the proyect
> Z-Rock Hawaii in Ipecac. Whay happened with that?
> Are you going to do it?

* Z Rock got taken away because they never did another
one. David has been working on some things for awhile.
NOT like the Jesus Lizard at all.

Is there any posibility in working with Yamatsuka or Yamatsuka Eye?

* That would be great. I'd love to do something with
Eye and 2 drummers.

15. I know that Peeping Tom is something really
> electronic pop. When does it come out?

* Early 2006 probably.

Are you planning a promotional tour?

* I hope.

A videoclip?

* I hope.

What musicians that don't belong to that pop/ electronic scene are in the proyect?

* Dan the Automator, Kool Kieth, Dale Crover,
Rahzel......

In the Lyrics of "What a Day'' of FNM you quote Hunter S. Thompson ("Kill the body and the head will die'') from the book "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas''.

16. Are you a Hunter S. Thompson reader?

* I have read some.

Did you read his first book?

* Yes

What's your opinion of him (outlaw ) and his rol inside american culture?

* He was a little overrated. He was great at times.

What do you think of his suicide?

* He was pretty messed up. If he had nothing else to
offer I guess suicide is OK. I'm not sure it was
suicide though.

17- Steve Balderson sent me "Wamego'', the documentary about doing movies in Kansas and "Firecracker''. How was the experience?

* It was cool. A real challenge.

Are you planning a future colaboration as an actor?

* If the right project comes I would do it again. But
I am a musician.

18- You will make the score for the independent movie "Pinion''. Can you tell me how the proyect came out, what is the movie about and if your going to publish that soundtrack for your fans?

* Don't know much about it yet. We will see.

19. I know that you love movies. What are your favorite films? Have you seen the work of the chilean director Alejandro Jodorowsky? It is really bizarre and fucked up.

* He is very good. Movies are great.

20. What music do you listen at home with your wife?
What do you listen when you are on tour?

* Mainly childrens music and disco.

21. What albums can you recomend me and what are you listening to lately?

* Buy everything on Ipecac Recordings, that is all I
listen to.

22. I know that you are a good reader. What are your favorite books? What have you been reading recentely?

* Not a lot. I'll start again on the road.

23. May artists use drugs for making their work. Have you ever needed them for creation or for partying?

* No. Those artists are morons.

24. I remember when you where on tour with FNM (92 to 95) and on stage you behaved like crazy, like something was possesing you. Can you tell something about that interior force and what's your opinion
about your fans that even want to be offended or harmed?ç

* I was young and stupid. Fans WANT to be offended and
harmed????? I guess those would be fools.

25. What are your proyects for the future? A solo record? New Scores? Movies?

* New Fantômas, Peeping Tom, new Tomahawk, scoring a
videogame, scoring a movie and lots of touring!

26. Is there any chance that you come down to Chile with Fantomas this year?

* That would be great! Make us an offer!!!!

Before i leave i will do 2 short questions:

Band and favorite album?
* Sinatra, anything

Favorite Food?
* everything

That's a great interview, thanks a lot!

It would be great a project similar to Mondo Cane (e.g. Mondo Mafia? :D ) where Mike sings Sinatras's songs. :)
